Heritage Japanese Courses
K Class
(Students who are 6 years old by September 1, 2024, can be registered for the 2024-25 school year)
２０２４年９月１日までに６歳になっている生徒のみ登録可
平仮名の清音、濁音、半濁音、拗音、長音、促音の復習とことば集め。名詞、形容詞、動詞、助詞の学習をします。短い文の読み書きができるように学んでいきます。絵本、クラフト、ゲームを通して、日本語の表現を広げていきます。
Students learn Hiragana, nouns, adjectives, verbs, and particles. They are also taught to read and write short sentences. They expand their knowledge of expressions through picture books crafts and games.
G1 Class
(Students who have successfully completed ＫClass or are at an equivalent level)

ひらがなの定着及びカタカナ、新出漢字１3字。短文から徐々に長文に慣れ、物語や説明文等の理解を深めていきます。名詞や形容詞、動詞、助詞、そして文の組み立てを学びます。それらを会話や作文で活用できるように練習します。一文作文に始まり三文作文を経て、日記や手紙の書き方等を学びます。身の回りの出来事や自分の意見等を発表します。
Students review Hiragana, start Katakana and learn 13 Kanji. They read sentences of various lengths to enable their understanding of stories. They learn more nouns, adjectives and particles as well as the structure of sentences. Students also write journals and letters. They practice speaking about everyday topics and learn to express their own opinions.
G2 Class
(Students who have successfully completed G1 or are at an equivalent level)

カタカナと新出漢字55字。物語や説明文の理解を更に深めながら読んでいきます。G１で習った文法を復習し、さらに詳しい文の組み立てができるように練習します。三段落作文や様子を伝えることを目的とした作文作成を学びます。身の回りの出来事や自分の意見等を相手に伝わるよう詳しく発表します。
Students review Katakana and learn 55 Kanji. They read and understand stories and explanatory notes. They learn more complicated forms for writing journals and letters. They discuss everyday topics and communicate their own opinions.
G3 Class
(Students who have successfully completed G2 or are at an equivalent level)

カタカナと新出漢字91字。漢字のつくりも指導。長い物語や説明文の読解と、そこから分かった事や考えた事を自分の文章でまとめます。段落のある作文で詳しく物事を説明し、表現豊かに書き表します。「類義語」「複合語」「指示代名詞（こそあど言葉）」「接続語」を学びます。身の回りの出来事やニュースを題材として発表します。
Students review Katakana and learn 91 new kanji. They read and understand long stories and explanatory notes and also write their own thoughts and expressions. They learn synonyms, demonstrative pronouns, conjunction words and more. They practice speaking of daily life and current events.
G4 Class
(Students who have successfully completed G3 or are at an equivalent level)

カタカナと漢字69字。長い物語の状況変化に伴いながらの把握や、説明文を読んで実際に作業する等をして理解力を深めていきます。作文の中に、会話文なども取り入れその場の状況を詳しく説明します。感情の表現文や説明文の作成も学びます。G３までの文法を復習しながら発展させます。身の回りの出来事やニュース等をまとめ自分の言葉で発表します。
Lessons emphasize Katakana and 69 new kanji. Students learn to understand explanatory notes and instructions in addition to comprehending long stories. Written practice includes students inserting conversational phrases to explain the details of situations. Students also learn to express emotions and feelings in their writing. They practice speaking of daily life and current events.
G5 Class
(Students who have successfully completed G4 or are at an equivalent level)

Gの低学年クラスで積み上げてきたことばを活用、さらに想像力を膨らませて詩や物語を書いたり俳句を作ったりします。日本の学校の生徒との文通を通じて、自分のこと、家族のこと等を文章で表現したり、副教材を使って発話の練習をします。日本についても学んでいきます。
Applying the vocabulary learned in prior classes, students write poems, creative stories, and Haiku to express their imaginations to the fullest. They correspond with students in Japan to introduce family and friends. Students practice speaking extensively and learn about Japan.
G6 Class
(Students who have successfully completed G5 or are at an equivalent level)

物語や詩を深く読み込んでいきます。自分のこと、家族のこと等を文章で表現し、副教材を使って発話の練習をします。日本についても学んでいきます。
Students read stories and poems to deepen their understanding of Japanese. They correspond with students in Japan to expand their range of expressions. Students continue to learn about Japan.
G7 Class
(Students who have successfully completed G6 or are at an equivalent level)

課題について、グループやクラス全体で話し合ってまとめ、調べて報告文を作成します。ことわざや慣用句、故事成語を学びます。副教材を使って、単文からより複雑な複文が言えるように発話の練習をします。日本についても学んでいきます。メディアを使って日本のコンテンツを学びます。
Students discuss topics in groups to research and complete reports. They learn proverbs, idiomatic phrases and other idioms derived from historical events. They practice speaking longer, more complicated sentences and broaden their knowledge of Japan.
G8 Class
(Students who have successfully completed G7 or are at an equivalent level)
（対象：G7クラス修了者または同等レベル）
文章を要約するスキルを学び、得た情報を人に伝える目的で聞取りをする等、より適切で正確にコミュニケーションが取れるように練習します。副教材を使って、単文からより複雑な複文が言えるように発話の練習をします。日本についても学んでいきます。
Students learn summarizing skills and practice making memos to precisely convey information. They practice speaking longer and more complex sentences. Students learn about Japan.
